The outer space to live, not to watch
The outdoor space is not a simple container of seasonal furniture, but a silent narrative that takes shape through precise choices, thoughtful details and shared visions.
For us, the real design is the language in which these stories are written, all stories that arise from the meeting between our design philosophy and the aspirations of those who will live them.
It is not just about furniture or structures, but to translate desires into tangible and habitable environments, in which every element, from the texture of a fabric to the arrangement of a light, contributes to compose a coherent and personal story.
This is the essence that lives behind our approach: a constant dialogue with those who decide to entrust us with their spaces, because we believe that authentic design emerges precisely from this collaboration. Our creations do not exist in an ideal vacuum, but come to life thanks to the trust and concrete needs of those who live there.
This is how a simple concept becomes an experience, where an idea turns into a place where you can recognise yourself.
In this path, four dimensions guide our research and work: materials, with their sensory and symbolic charge; comfort, understood as harmony between body and environment; the everyday, because the most successful spaces are those that can accommodate the rituals of each day; and finally the interactivity, which dissolves the barrier between observer and space, inviting a total involvement.
What we propose is not a simple collection of objects, but an invitation to imagine, and then also to live, design stories in which you will be the protagonist.
Materials: tactile experience and resistance
As important as it is, authentic design does not just seduce the eye: in fact, it makes itself known through the skin, it reveals itself at the pressure of the fingers, It is told in the silent dialogue between matter and body and shows its result with the feeling of relaxation that you experience.
We have gone beyond the now outdated concept of a showcase as a space for detached contemplation, to embrace a more intimate and radical idea of design: a design that asks to be touched, explored, put to the test.
Because materials are not simple components, but real sensory alphabets.
From this, those who choose us for their outdoor space do it for these two elements:
- Materials, which can be studied closely to capture texture, strength and workmanship. Every texture, every finish, thus, is put in the spotlight (and under the visitors’ fingers). Let the surfaces themselves demonstrate the water resistance of technical fabrics, or the tactile freshness of hand-worked metals.
- Comfort, which you can measure with your own body: in our stands, we install real living areas where visitors are invited to sit, lie down, or take a seat. Because an outdoor sofa has to support its back in different positions, a table has to accommodate glasses and plates with stability, and an illumination has to create an atmosphere at sunset.
Take, for example, a technical fabric, seemingly smooth and uniform: only by approaching, just touching it, you discover its true soul. The micro-weaves that make it up tell a story of water resistance, engineered fibres to challenge the elements without losing elegance.
Or, a hand-woven rope: every groove, every imperceptible variation of thickness betrays the artisan’s gesture that shaped it, transforming a raw material into a vibrant, almost alive tactile experience.
This approach transforms the finishes into narratives. A seam is no longer just a functional detail, but a sign of identity; a joint between metals stops being a simple technical knot to become a signature.
Through these choices, which many would define as minutiae, we declare a very precise philosophy: quality is not announced, it is demonstrated.
Let the surfaces themselves talk about their durability, their ability to age gracefully, and their essence that resists fashion.
Powder coating
Characteristics
Aluminium is the ideal choice for creating lightweight yet incredibly durable structures. Its natural resistance to corrosion makes it perfect for outdoor use, but it is with powder coating that it reaches higher levels of durability.
The application process is a real added value: the fluid paint adheres evenly to the aluminium surface, creating a homogeneous and scratch-resistant protective layer. The result is an impeccable finish, available in different shades, that does not fade under the sun and resists thermal changes.
Thanks to this technology, our furniture is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, maintaining its elegance even after years of use.
Maintenance
Taking care of a powder-coated aluminium structure is simple, but it requires attention to some details. Regular cleaning with a damp cloth and clean water is sufficient to remove dust and surface residue. It is important to dry the surface immediately to avoid halos, especially in marine environments where salt can accelerate oxidation.
Some common mistakes can compromise the durability of the finish: the use of aggressive chemical detergents, for example, can affect the protective layer, as well as prolonged contact with salt water. Even accidental bumps or deep scratches can damage the paint, exposing the underlying aluminium.
For those living in coastal areas, where the air is rich in salt, we recommend a more frequent cleaning, at least twice a week, and a periodic check to detect any signs of early wear.
High-performance ropes
Characteristics
The ropes we use in our furniture are not a simple decorative detail, but a structural element designed to withstand the most extreme conditions. Made of high-tenacity polyester, they are treated to resist UV rays without fading or fading, maintaining their chromatic vibrancy over time.
Their water resistance, both sweet and salty, makes them ideal for furniture near swimming pools or by the sea. In addition, the repellent surface prevents the absorption of liquids, reducing the formation of mould and halos. Each knot and weave is hand-made by skilled craftsmen, ensuring a uniform tension and longer life than industrial solutions.
Maintenance
The maintenance of polyester ropes is intuitive but requires some precautions. For daily cleaning, simply wipe with a damp cloth soaked in warm water and gently rub to remove surface dirt. In the case of more stubborn stains, you can use a mild detergent, taking care to rinse thoroughly to avoid residues that could attract further dirt.
One mistake to avoid is the use of solvents or bleach-based products, which could weaken the fibres and compromise UV resistance. Prolonged exposure to water without proper drying can also encourage the growth of bacteria, especially in humid areas.
For those living in windy places, where dust accumulates easily, we suggest brushing the ropes periodically with a soft bristle brush before washing, so as to remove the coarser grains that could act as abrasives.
Acrylic fabrics
Characteristics
The fabrics that cover our furniture are the result of years of research in the field of technical materials. Made of 100% acrylic, they are dyed in mass, a process that guarantees a uniform and resistant colour even after years of exposure to the sun.
Their molecular structure makes them waterproof but breathable, avoiding the formation of condensation and mould. Thanks to specific treatments, they naturally repel dirt and resist the chlorine of swimming pools and saltwater, maintaining a feeling of softness.
Maintenance
The care of these tissues begins with prevention: regularly removing dust with a soft bristle brush prevents dirt from penetrating deep. For the most common stains, such as those from food or drink, a solution of mild soap diluted in warm water (maximum 38°C), to be applied with a sponge without rubbing excessively.
Rinse thoroughly, as detergent residues may attract further dirt. Air drying is the only recommended method: the use of dryers or steam presses could alter the fibres, while the centrifuge would deform the fabric texture.
In the case of difficult stains, such as those from solar oil, you can repeat the treatment gently, avoiding non-specific degreasing products. To prolong the life of the fabric, we recommend storing it in a dry place during the winter or covering it with breathable protectors if left outdoors.
Ceramic
Characteristics
The ceramic used in our table tops and supporting structures combines elegance and robustness. Thanks to high-temperature cooking, it achieves a density that makes it immune to scratches, bumps and the most common chemicals, such as cleaning products or cosmetics.
Its non-porous surface makes it hygienic, preventing the proliferation of bacteria, and completely waterproof, ideal for wet environments or in contact with food and beverages.
Maintenance
Daily cleaning is simple: a cloth moistened with water or a non-oily multi-purpose detergent is sufficient to remove surface dirt. For the most resistant stains, such as those of limestone or soap, you can use a specific ceramic product, leaving it to act for a few minutes before rinsing.
Avoid strong acid detergents and abrasive sponges, which may scratch the surface. To preserve the gloss over time, especially in the glossy versions, we recommend always drying the surface after cleaning, preventing halos and mineral deposits.
Every material that makes up our furniture has been selected to offer the perfect balance between aesthetics and resistance, but their longevity also depends on the care they receive. Following these simple tips, you will enjoy the beauty of your home accessories for years, without compromise.
Regular maintenance is not just a matter of hygiene, but a gesture of love towards objects designed to accompany you in everyday life, outdoors and indoors, with the same elegance as the first day.
The environment speaks of everyday life
We recreate micro-worlds that reflect real lifestyles: from the breakfast corner on the city terrace, where the first morning sun mixes with the aroma of coffee, to the garden lounge designed for aperitifs between friends, where sunsets become shared experiences. Up to hybrid solutions for those looking for multifunctionality – spaces that know how to transform from office to living room, from relaxation area to stage for small events.
Every detail is designed to translate daily rituals into sensory experiences: the depth of a seat that welcomes you when you return from work, the inclination of a table that encourages conversations, the arrangement of lights that changes the atmosphere as the hours pass.
For us, designing means creating scenarios in which anyone can find fragments of their own life, because a well-conceived environment is never just a background, but a discreet companion that amplifies the quality of every ordinary gesture.
This is the magic we seek: to make sure that, between textures, volumes and proportions, each visitor can exclaim, “this space speaks of me”.
Projects and realisations, an ever-open field
The Livintwist world is not a gallery of completed projects, but an ever-open construction site, a workshop where ideas breathe and change shape under the hands of those who know how to question them.
What exists today in our spaces is only the last chapter of a story that we write together – a history made up of encounters, tests, materials that have resisted our questions and intuitions born from the dialogue with those who will inhabit them.
Each project is a starting point. Behind a seemingly perfect table are dozens of discarded prototypes; before a fabric that caresses the skin, there have been months of silent tests.
This is our rhythm: experiment, disassemble, start again. Because true design does not fear the imperfections of the process, but celebrates them as necessary milestones.
And now, the question is the same one we ask of every project:
And then what?
The answer can be found in our showrooms, where prototypes come to life under the curious gaze of those who know how to question forms, or in events that transform into a collective experience of what was born in creative solitude.
It is there, among conversations with artisans, designers and dreamers like us, that the project reveals its true purpose: not a point of arrival, but a springboard to new possibilities.
Because we believe that a well-designed environment is not just about satisfying a need, but it also sparks the imagination, suggests new paths, and challenges the boundaries between what is and what could be.
If you also feel that design is a matter of skin and time, of hands that shape the material while the eyes trace horizons, come into touch with your hand what is taking shape.
Our spaces are maps of an ever-changing territory: every texture is a clue, every junction hides a story, every curve draws a direction.
Here, between surfaces that speak and volumes that invite exploration, you can follow the signposts to the next stage of a journey that has no end.
Because the real design, like the best stories, always leaves a “and then?” in the air, an echo that calls for discoveries.
